		<description>Hi Adam,

The reason the kids that day didn't want to come out and say their wild "Hi!" was that they were observing ata sil (eight virtues) One of those eight is to not to jump up, run, play, or even show emotions. It is the day to be like a monk (not a monkey).
Giving an important Buddhist lecture to Deaf students without an interpreter??? What a waste! That lack of awareness is the opposite of Buddhism.

I'm so happy to read that my friend Amila is now teaching at Rohana! The young man with Bright Smiles and fun friendly face.

Wishing you the best,

<description>Adam! I have become quite a fanciful reader when it comes to your blogs. I was wondering the same, who was the interviewer?

Amila's experience and internal friction as a Deaf person is entirely the process of what Deafhood looks like. Doesn't matter which bend of earth you're on.

I'm curious to see how the Deaf identity thing goes.

<description>Hmmmm. And exactly WHO is this interviewer? Does Sri Lanka have therapy for multiple personality disorder? ;-)

What a terrific "Day in the Life" saga. And you discovered, yet again, that life defies prediction.

Poignant points about nutrition/growth (or the lack thereof) and the seeming disregard of basic communication input for the kids at critical times.

Which movies?
